Confused about engagement levels

I had to ask my midwife yesterday if he was engaged at all... He's not at all 🙈 he's head down though!
Yeah I got confused about this.. But it's apparently the other way around. 5/5 should be 0/5 when they are sitting just on top of your bone. I donno why Google shows this and the midwifes put different.. She wrote 1/5 on mine when baby was just slightly engaged which is picture 4/5 here. Someone help!!
1/5th is very engaged… people who say 5/5ths is fully engaged have just not researched and have no clue what they’re talking about lol. Xx
@Khadiijah idk why your midwife has done that but they usually write down how much of the head they can feel. 1/5th means that the midwife can only feel 1/5th of the head above the pelvis which means 4/5ths of it is below it and engaged. You should ask when you go in xx
@Maaham thank you for explaining. I've always been confused with this! Seeing different online to how my midwife explained. This was with my pregnancy before (a year back) . This time they haven't even wrote or told me anything about baby being engaged! I need to ask next time xx
I learnt this yesterday! My midwife tells me how many fifths ‘palpable’ the baby’s head is, which is how much they can feel above the pelvis. That’s what the Google pic is showing. Engaged is the opposite. Needlessly confusing!
Baby has gone from 4/5 to 3/5 with me which is in line with your image
Following this as I’m also confused! My midwife told me last week that my baby was 1/5 engaged and I thought that meant slow progress 🙄
