I’ve done it and my baby is perfectly fine!!x

@Kyanna it’s fine as long as you use them within the 24 hours right? X

I find it a lot easier and quicker if I do the hot shot method during the night as the bottle is ready literally in 30 seconds. During the day he eats breastmilk from a bottle which takes some time to warm up.

@Neli What’s the hot shot method? I still breast feed currently so during the night I just put her on but in the next 2 months or so I plan to take her off so I’m interested to know what that is. She is having all 3 really, boob, breast milk in a bottle and formula, I’m kinda just giving her a bottle here and there though I feel as though I need to get into some routine with it but she’s only 4 months so still early

@Elisha it’s a small amount of hot water 70 degrees add the formula and fill in the rest with cold water to reach drinking temperature. Say your baby drinks 120ml of formula, to get the bottle it’s usually around 30ml of hot water the 4 scoops of formula and then just add the rest of the cold water and the bottle is ready.

We do this and baby seems perfectly happy! We tend to batch morning, afternoon and evening feeds so they’re never sat for too long (and definitely always under 24 hours).

@Neli I will definitely try that thank you

@Jess is your baby 100% formula fed? What’s your routine?

Did it with my first one and I plan on doing it with my second too. Use within 24 hours. I made a big batch of how much she ate in 24 hours in a formula pitcher.

Pre making is fine, just use the bottle within 24 hours. Of note, if you’re currently exclusively breastfeeding and this is the first time using formula, I wouldn’t introduce 3 bottles in 24 hours without pumping or your supply will plummet and you may get clogged ducts

We put a bottle filled with water in our bottle warmer and set it for 24 hours. When we’re ready to feed we put in the formula and we’re good to go. I also combo feed

@Hope Badillo in the uk formula has to be added to water over 70c to kill bacteria so it isn’t that simple unfortunately 😞

Didn’t do it as I don’t see the need really if you have a Nuby rapid cool the bottle can be made in 2/3 mins the same time it’s gonna take for you to warm that bottle up x

Once baby got to 6 months I started just taking a bottle with boiling water out and adding the powder to it and had no issues. I’ve pre made them and put them in the fridge and again no issues but just found it took too long to warm up for my LO. I still use the Nuby rapid cool hot shot method, and the prep machine when in the house but they all work and I’ve never had an issue with any method as long as the bottles are sterile and the water is sterile x

@Elena I agree. It takes longer to warm than to make with the nuby

I've always pre made my babys bottles and she's 7 months now. Did it with my other 2 aswell

I've been pre making babies bottles since he was born. I make a batch every morning and a batch every night and he's absolutely fine 8 months on xx

I always prepped the days bottles to make life easier 👍🏻

I was lucky my little girl didn't mind if the milk was hot, warm or cold. So I would premake her bottles for the evening but during the day there was no need unless we were going out.

We pre made bottles and stuck them straight in the fridge and they were used within 24 hours. We just pinged them in the microwave and ensured there werent any hot pockets of milk. Currently pregnant with our 2nd child and will be doing the same again
