Potty Training Question

We started potty training our 3 year old boy. After about 7 accidents today, he finally went in the potty and had a total melt down. Of course, we were confused. Like, yay! You did it! But he just cried. Is this normal? Did we do something wrong?

Just offer lost of positive reinforcement it's new, we are potty training our 18mo old and we try to make it fun and a Pos experience when he goes in the potty we make it a big deal lots of praise.

@Lory I feel like I initially messed up by giving him too much praise at the end of last summer when we first attempted to potty train :/ He literally refused to go until we started to nudge him a little to try again. Maybe he felt too much pressure from all the praise?

My son seeing himself pee for the first time I think it scared him as well. But he now enjoys going potty after the initial shock. It’s the only time he gets my phone to watch cocomelon. And when he goes In the potty he gets a little piece of candy
