Where do I stand

I’m returning back to work in April I work in retail. I’m 99.9% sure they will want me to change one of my 3 days they’ll try to change to a late. (Which I don’t want to do) i just wonder what my rights are I’m asking to go back the exact same hours I was doing before do I have any rights to just do this? Or can they just change my hours whenever? Sorry I’m not sure thank you for reading 😊

It’s whatever will be stated in your contract.

I think legally as long as you are offered an equivalent role unfortunately they can offer you anything but definitely check your contract x

Unless your contract states your exact hours and shifts, they can ask you to change shifts as long as they are giving you your contracted hours. Even if you request certain shifts too they don't have to accept if they aren't beneficial to the company 🤷‍♀️

Thank you so much ☺️ I know they can change my hours at anytime with 2 weeks notice so it must be a Similar thing when I go back. I’ll take a look at my contract didn’t think about that 😂 . I understand the business need etc if need be I won’t go back I have checked I don’t need to pay maternity back xx

This is my problem as I’ve heard whilst being off that if I was to go back I’d be on the lates no matter what but I’ve not been spoke to about this, plus it’s a new manager that I’ve never met nor spoken to and have had no communication what so ever so I’ve decided to not go back x

@Shannon yeah I get this I think I’ll do the same xx

I’m not sure how the expect us work lates if I’m honest our lates is 2-10pm so I’ve got no family around me apart from my partners side who are all still working at 2pm so I’m not sure how they’d expect me to get childcare at that time it’s crazy not to mention I was doing earlys before I went off due to me having a horse too who I do I the afternoons and it was always the agreement id do 6-2 but with new management and the place sounding like it’s going under I’d rather just not bother x
