There is also a story about poos wanting to have a party together in the sewer and they can only join the party if they are flushed down the loo and the poops which go in the nappy are lonely or something 😅 but maybe he's too young to understand all of those concepts I've just read about it on potty training forums. Taking him to bathroom to watch you poo and then show him and let him flush for you will also help so he can hopefully copy your behaviour. Mummy poo goes in the toilet not the bed. The bed is for sleeping and cuddles etc. Last idea is a baby born doll which can poo on a potty if you buy the food for it. It's quite useful for weeing at least but have not tried with the baby food and doubt jt will look much like human poo but maybe it still would help! Or just act out with teddies and a mini plush poop emoji toy you hide until it falls from behind teddy's bum 😅
Is he still in vests, babygrows or sleeping bags as this might stop him being able to reach his nappy and the poo.
@Alex hi sorry for the late reply! Yes he’s been doing in before he wakes us up in the morning! He wakes between 8-10 most mornings so it’s hard to catch him before he does it. I honestly think it’s the nappy bothering him because he will always pull down his full nappies in the day if they’re bothering him. He’s wearing pull ups already but we’re just going to start potty training because I don’t know how many more times we can get up to those horror scenes🤮
@Zoe my mum suggested the same thing! He’s wearing pull-ups and pjamas. Every time he wears a vest to bed it will go to the side of his nappy and rub badly on his leg so we’ve avoided putting them on him for bed time. Not really sure where to go…
@Alex and love the idea of the lonely poo😂😂😂🥲
Does he poo while asleep or he just goes to bed to do it? Try to notice if there is a pattern to his pooping eg time of day or interval of time after waking or eating so you can hopefully catch it earlier. Anytime you catch it before he does or any time any of it stays in the nappy put the nappy aside while you clean him and the bed and once done make a big deal of taking the nappy and him in the bathroom and pouring the poop into the toilet and saying "poopoop goes in the toilet but we dont touch it". Read books on potty training and look at ERIC website for ideas on introducing potty. My son does a few wees on potty every day but hasn't done a poop on one for ages as I can't predict it at all and the last time he pooped on potty he wanted to touch it and I said "no dont touch it!" A bit too frantically so he got scared and hasnt pooped on potty since🙈 but we have a lot of time to fix this! Could you also set an alarm to get up before him? Try a pullup or duct tape so he can't open?
