No hate please

Hello, I am trying to get my 3 year old to drink more water. He’s on the spectrum and is weird about what he drinks/eats. He loves stuff like juice and milk, he will sometimes drink water but he prefers the other drinks instead. I’m also having trouble getting him off the bottle, he will drink out of a cup and water bottle sometimes but overall he won’t give up the bottle. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

You could always try flavored water

Is diluted squash/cordial an option?

A little bit of juice mixed with a lot of water often helps!

I give my daughter pedialyte for the replacement of juice since it’s technically flavored water and I still give her water as well

Seconding a little water + 100% fruit juice! I just don't love the dyes and artificial flavors that are in pedialyte and some flavored waters

@Melissa That’s true, since I already give my child alittle sugar in oatmeal and grits. I try to limit that in juices

Dilute the other drinks gradually. How does he do with a straw?

@Kaylah he sometimes likes them but if it's plastic he will chew it up

I use the Munchkin 360 cups with my daughter. It is silicone, but she can chew on them.
