Post bath

Hello ladies hope everyone’s well and had a great Christmas and new year . I’m wondering if anyone relates or has any advise - we have always had a strict nighttime routine bath white noise machine dark room and bottle which works well as she sleeps through. the problem is getting out of the bath she adores being in the bath but coming out is traumatic she gets herself in such a state crying to the point she chokes the rooms nice and warm towel is warm too , I try to distract her ,we try using a dummy but she spits it out and cry’s bloody murder I’m not sure what I can do to avoid this as me and dad dread bath time Thank you xxx

When mine gets like that I make my partner hold the Lumi white noise machine with music on and the changing light setting, she finds it mesmerising so I can get her dry and dressed before I feed her. Maybe there is something else like that you could find? Or get the lumi bc it’s the best thing I’ve bought for her haha

Wrapped in a towel and a cuddle usually settles my baby, he’s the same enjoys the bath but cry’s soon as he’s out, I think they either don’t want to come out or it’s the warmth of the bath and they feel cold soon as u lift them out xx

My little girl was the same - I quickly dry her a little bit, get her in a nappy as soon as I can and then do skin to skin under a warm blanket. It's calmed her down really well :)

We used to have this and it was because she was getting past it at this point so moved bath time earlier into the routine. So we do bath, bottle, play relax and bed and works so much better for us. Could you try bath at the start of her last wake window and see if it changes? X

I have the lumi white machine and honestly I haven’t looked into other settings other than red light and white noise so that’s a great idea - I bath with her so we’re skin to skin till dad takes her out and drys her - maybe it’s going from skin to skin to a towel ? We moved her bath bed time to 6 as it was later initially thinking it might help but she try’s hard to skip her last nap which could also play into it - she loves to try skip naps I usually go out a walk to try make sure she gets a nap but since it’s so dark and cold in the evening it’s a no go atm my partner was Keen to try bath play bottle bed but the once we tried it was a complete disaster but it’s defo a good idea trying the bath at her last wake window thanks for everyone’s advice

I agree with an earlier comment! We had this exact thing it was so traumatic getting him out and dressed after the bath!! We do his bath almost as soon as he wakes from his last nap when he’s fresher and then slowly get him dressed and then he has a bit of a play after his bath so we can just take him straight up to his bed when he is ready for it! We found waiting to do the bath right before bed he was too tired and hungry xxx

This may sound insane idk but try a hairdryer! Sometimes the change in temp can be a shock to them and they don’t like it but if you have a hairdryer on you can hold it at a distance to warm her as you dry her. Or if there’s two of you have one person hold the hairdryer and the other lift baby out while drying her with it so it’s less of a shock. Have it on a low heat setting x And it’s also white noise too
