We got a tonie for our son when he turned 1. He absolutely loves it and puts all the figures on himself now. Never seen / used a yoto mini so cant compare but there's nothing we don't like about the tonie x
We have the tonnie box , we love it and I say we as in me and my husband too, its not all about our boy 😛
Yoto mini for our 18 month old! It will grow better with them as it is good for younger kids and slightly older kids too. My 18 month old is able to figure out how to put the cards in and chooses her favourite ones. She hasn’t figured out the buttons yet, but then again neither have I lol Easier DIY options - for Christmas her uncle recorded himself reading a book to her. I love that there is free, ad-free, child-friendly radio at any time and that you can customise when bedtime is so it changes to sleepy tunes at that time. Yoto all the way!!!
Also Yoto mini much better for travelling than the Tonies.
I have no experience of Tonie but we got the Yoto mini for my 17mo. We also got the silicone cover, to help protect against toddler moments 😜 & a variety of cards to try out. Mainly nursery rhymes & silly songs. So far, it's been a big hit. The cards are durable & easy to insert. They work upside down & back to front, so LO doesn't need to be exact. He knows which picture card to pick for particular favorite songs. And I can play the library of cards from my phone, either via the Yoto or directly on my phone, so no worries if we forget either on car journeys etc.
