I was thinking possibly the organic one as I see that's always in stock x
All formula in the uk is highly regulated so they are pretty much the same. My hv and midwife advised to use the cheapest most readily available for that exact reason. I did end up using aptamil but she has a milk allergy so is now on prescription milk anyway 🤦🏼♀️
@Paige yeah I got the organic one. And the I read it has palm oil in it and since researching goats milk it seems a lot better than cows x
Oh okay thank you x
I use Kendamil as it was the only which did not contain palm oil when I was doing my research. Now aptamil and C&G are also palm oil free. Kendamil is made with whole milk and tastes nice compared to the others. My LO loves it. I know there have been supply issues but it seems to be in stock near me. I use the ready made milk which has been simple enough to get hold of.
Used aptamil since day 2 (8 months now) and never had an issue. Used Kendamil initially and couldn’t get hold of it so had to swap straight away. I don’t know what you read exactly, you’ll read all kinds about different brands. But at the end of the day it’s a well established and trusted brand, every baby is different and will react differently to different formula. That being said once you pick one try to stick to it as swapping can cause issues (unless you’re swapping because of an issue) x
This came up on my feed but we’ve used aptamil for a year and no bother at all and I like that almost every shop sells it, even corner shops and chemists! They are so tightly regulated there seems to be almost no difference
Using cow and gate and had no problems till now. April baby.
With my first we started on aptamil but they changed formula and it really upset her. Then moved to kendamil which was fab & will use that this time to mix feed!
Aptamil uses bovaer fed cows, if you’re ok with that then I think Aptamil is ok. Kendamil use much better ingredients and kendamil goat is amazing. It’s closer to breast milk and much more easily digested too
That's the thing I saw but wasn't sure what it meant! I think I'm gonna go for Kendamil goat x
Used Cow & Gate with my first. Cheapest and always in the shops, both as full packs and ready made bottles for when caught short when out and about. By law, all infant formula sold in the UK must meet the same standards so going for something cheap isn’t doing less for your baby☺️ there’s a lot of misinformation/conspiracy about bovaer. do your own research if you’d like but it’s been proven safe!
Oh thank you! It reassures me a lot! X
@Paige bovaer is a hormone they give to cows to reduce gas emissions. The claim is that it doesn’t reach the milk but some studies show it does with health consequences. Cows are given plenty of other unhealthy hormones too, so if I wasn’t going to go for goat, I’d go for Kendamil organic (fed both to my baby when he was younger, until he was diagnosed with CMPA) x

Thank you so much!! X
@Rueben there is palm oil in kendamil, I saw it on the ingredients on the back of the tin. X
Just to reassure you that kendamil doesn’t use bovaer xx
Also if you do breast feed, make sure you’re not having milk that contains bovaer as that could pass through into your milk xxx
Bovaer poses no health risks and there are no official studies which show this.
We used cow and gate on my daughter and will on this baby too 🥰 it’s one of the cheapest ones around too and they do refil bags that’s are reasonable xx
@Charlie where are the long term studies?
@Zara this is from their website.
@Rueben that’s strange I’m sure it says palm oil on my tin, I will check when I get back home x
I second Kendamil, like @Rueben I researched and found it better for my son. It’s not stocked in every supermarket but my local co op, Superdrug, Tesco, Savers and Morrisons had it in stock or you can order online. The ready to use bottles are also handy when you’re out! I hardly saw the goats version available in shops and it is also double the price! Believe me it adds up when they start drinking a lot of milk and your on mat pay!! 😅 Whichever brand you decide to use I would just keep a note on your phone which shops local to you stock it as it’s handy to know if you run out and need to grab some quick or send someone out to get it x
@Rueben I got confused with rapeseed oil, which I don’t think is great for you but 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
What about goat milk from Kendamil? I’m swaying towards goats milk as it’s the most similar to breast milk and has softer curds which make it easier to digest and not as harsh on babies tummy and also has no palm oil in it. Xx
