Baby Baths

If your baby hated baths towards the beginning of their life, did it get better as they got older? If so, what do you think helped them to enjoy baths?

My daughter absolutely hated baths when she was tiny, now I can’t get her out of them! We started taking her swimming at 11 weeks old and I think as soon as she became use to it and started to enjoy the water, she became more relaxed and confident. She’s nearly 1 now and always takes herself to the bath and screams until I run her one!

Yes my baby hated baths until she was 5 months Now she loves it

Try a bubble machine! I got this crab that plays music and creates a waterfall of bubbles and my son loves it! Also soothing light up toys and use a mini space heater to make sure the room is super toasty

Got in the bath with her for a couple of months. She grew out of it and loves swimming lessons now! Second baby is a total water baby, she was born in the water though!

The sound of running water worked for us! He would've been around a month old, I think..

@Constance Blunt I was told that once she’d had all of her vaccines she was all good to go!

Keeping them warm is key 🔑

Getting in bath with him once sitting independently Before that, singing a specific song for getting into Bath or swimming pool. I did under 6 from the little mermaid. Dip a foot in first. Keep it short and keep the room warm. Show them how to splash.

Carried on doing it and they got used to it

She hated the sponge baths. But as soon as her cord fell off and i put her in the tub she loved it. She loves warm water

I would sit in the tub and have baby on my lap. We sometimes hold him in the shower too depending on if one of us needs a shower also and if he needs a full bath or just rinsed off. But now that he's too big for me to sit with him he loves the bath. If I'm showering and have him just playing in the tub, he doesn't want to get out at all! He'll be shivering when the water is off and drained but still trying to play with his toys.

He did at first, but then I started taking baths with him until he could sit up on his own. He loved it then, and when I stopped going in with him he still loved it! Now he gets so excited when I turn the water on and runs into the bathroom lol

I think that it’s natural for many not to my babies didn’t and I didn’t force it on them I’d do sponge downs instead they all love baths now as they’ve gotten older and are able to sit up and play in the tub etc. all things in time 💕💕

Our LG absolutely hated bathtime. I have a picture of her staring up at me with the saddest little face after her first bath and she'd scream her head off every time. At 8 weeks we started weekly swimming lessons. Week 1 she lasted 10 minutes, screaming off and on. Week 2-4 we were the only ones in the pool so we kinda went with her and tried lots of things to calm her down and didn't get her out when she got grumpy and she stayed the whole half hour. The bath after week 3s lesson she didn't scream the whole time, and has been fine in the water since. She now screams when we take her out because she's not done splashing until she's splashed all the water out the tub 😂
