Fetal abdominal cyst ?ovarian ?kidney

Just wondering if anyone’s had anything similar and what the outcome was? Had a private 4D scan at 30 weeks 2 days ago, which found a 38mm x 39mm x 47mm cystic area on the left above baby’s bladder. Couldn’t identify left kidney either. This structure wasn’t noted on my first attempt of 4D scan just over a week ago and everything seemed fine at my 20 week anatomy scan but I remember they took ages to locate one of the kidneys before deciding all was fine and they could see it. Sonographer the other day thinks it could be kidney or ovarian cyst? Have been referred fetal medicine but they can’t see me until Monday! It’s already been an agonising 2 days. Thank you! Xx

I had this exact thing! We were checked multiple times by fetal medicine and once my little one was born they arranged for an ultrasound. Whatever it was for us, it had disappeared by the time she was born but they had also suspected kidney or ovarian. Sometimes they do just apparently go away on their own. Anyway it’s still really stressful I’m sorry you’re experiencing it, no fun at all, sending all the positivity your way x

@Jess Thank you for your reply! Could they also not find the one kidney at one point with your little one? I’m worried how the cyst looked so huge and seemed to come from nowhere in just over a week 🤦🏼‍♀️

I can’t actually remember if it effected seeing her kidney, but I know they were questioning it being something with either her kidney, ovary or intestines. They can get a clearer picture as baby grows! But also the fetal medicine dr will also give you a much better idea when you see them, sorry I can’t help in that sense x
