It's because you asked for an elective c section, they shouldn't decline you as women can choose to have one regardless of whether there is a medical need or not. It will just be more of conversation as to why you want one so they can document it along with notifying you of the risks/possible complications as they have to. Then they will no doubt book it in and maybe even give you the date so you can prepare for coming into hospital x

I asked for an elective c-section due to my anxiety and I had a zoom call with a lovely consultant midwife who went through with me the reasons and risks etc, and she definitely said because of my anxiety etc she thought it would be the best option for me. I was still very nervous on the day, but it was definitely the right option for me/us (hubby too). I'm currently pregnant again and I had my first midwife appointment last week (not had 12 week scan yet - I'm somewhere between 7 and 9 weeks). I said I want another c-section with this one, and she was fine with it. Good luck hun, you'll be just fine x

I have my consultant appointment tomorrow, been very nervous as until now the midwives have been trying to convince me to go down the natural route, but same as you because of anxiety (plus a few health conditions that they haven’t exactly been helpful with - even resulted in me being hospitalised last week) I think an elective C is best for me. Just feel like I have to keep fighting my corner, so urge you to do the same! It’s your body and baby at the end of the day x

They might also have you meet with an anaesthetist, who will check your veins, your throat and your back, your weight and talk you through the pain relief/spinal block/general anaesthesia. When I went to the consultant, they asked what I wanted and recorded it, did the usual blood pressure/urine/weight etc and talked pros and cons 💚
