5month still in nicu
hi my boy was born aug 2nd and was 2lbs 9oz @28wk 3days now i moved him to childrens (arriving he weigh8lbs) hes now 5months (adjusted 2month) weighing 13lbs 11oz ! hes ng and by mouth 150ml is his max they claim he wont eat much at night hes tired! but day drink full feeds. i keep push for NG CLASS to bring him home they giving me the bs runaround!!! should i send him back to the 1st hosp? Are they giving too much milk? i feel they forcing too much milk !what he dont drink goes ng!

@Cassie as of yesterday they feed when hes ready its the drs bs everytime i say set ng class. his casework is even trying to push for home !home care already in place,oxygen and monitor i had sense oct
weird question what size nipple is he on ? my son was on a premie dr brown nipple. a nurse tried level 1 he did well so they went to a level 2 and he did great shortly after released since he would drink his bottles without working so hard and getting tired. good luck. just a thought

How often is he eating? What's most important is the total daily intake. He should be consuming around 24-32oz per day. I would push for the NG class, but if they won't do that you can request them go prescribe a visiting nurse that can check and replace the NG tube as needed.
