The first thing is seeing if baby wakes from a nap with a dry diaper. Next baby has to know when he/she is wet. Either saying it, taking off diaper, pointing at the potty, etc anything that shows an understanding.
I heard that once they can tell you they went pee and poo they can potty train.
I have introduced going to the potty since she was 1. I got a little cheap one she can sit on when I use the bathroom and I ask her if she wants to flush the toilet for me so when time comes she has an idea. Some signs she has been showing me recently and making me think I need to start soonish. She goes to a different room to poop (usually the kitchen) seeming like she wants privacy. And she will come up to me right away and say poop and want me to change her diaper. I’m only hesitant because she shows 0 sign when it comes to pee she even hates when I have to change a diaper with pee.
@Alexa this is what worked with both my nephews at 18 months: worked like a charm
We started potty training our daughter already but we didn’t force it, she led it herself! She was starting to hide when she would poop and then let us know and then when she felt like she had to go to the bathroom she started pointing at her diaper to let us know she had to go! So we’ve just ran with it and she’s been doing awesome! We never force her to go since it is still early but she’s doing a great job of alerting us! And we also bought a small potty for her early on so she was comfortable with it and sitting on it before she actually started using it to go potty 😊
Love this! Following this post for advice!
My daughter grabs at her diaper and says "poop" she doesn't understand the difference between poop, pee or a fart yet 🤣 but she is also scared of the potty seat we got for her. She started off good with it, was reading books but now she won't!

I’m fully planning to do the naked weekend approach in a few months when my son moves up to the next room at daycare where they will consistently take him to the potty. The room he is in now they won’t potty train very well.
Signs I hear are 1) they can follow simple commands 2) they can go long stretches with a dry diaper 3) they can communicate with you
Definitely was curious of this too! I read an article that said right after their second birthday to take 3-5 days to potty train. Have kiddos wear underwear (no diapers) and take them potty every 10 minutes, push water so they have to pee, etc.
