The potty is there but I can’t see interested on my son 🤦🏻♀️
We have got a potty for our little girl and one of them onces that go on the toilet with a step. She will happily sit on the potty with close on but she not keen on the toilet seat. She's only just turned 2.
Probably in the summer tbh. We waited til the summer before our 1st turned 3 (Nov baby so a bit older than these Jan babies will be) and til he displayed the usual signs of being able to notice & tell us before he needed a pee/poo; taking himself off for privacy when pooing etc. Very stress free.
Started last week, had a potty last year. Just going to encourage everyday and go from there
We've had a potty for a while, and a toilet seat, we let her go nappy free after her 6pm poo and see what she does. She's had 1 poo on the toilet and 2 on the potty, and a few wees but it's not often she tells us she needs to go before it's happened so not pushing it, we just ask every now and then to get her used to idea. On the weekend her 4 Yr old cousin went a couple times and she wanted to go to the toilet straight after him! Did a wee each time.
I have introduced potty at 6 months just sitting reading a book and she has successfully wee in it ( good timing and luck ! ) then she started to get used to this routine before nap and bedtime and was seeing regularly at age of 10 months and started to poop in it , i think she found it was more comfortable than the nappy, gradually has become more and more frequent and now she only wee and poop in the potty or toilet but she is not warning me she needs it , it is just me offering regularly . When I tried without nappy a week ago she has accidents so I have stopped the potty training and I am now focusing on her telling me she needs it , when I will reach a point where I feel she can feel it properly I will remove nappy ! It is frustrating because she has no wet nappies at all except night but she is not fully ready yet ! I am sure she will be very soon and will ask the rest of the family to mention they need the toilet every time they hoping that she will also pick it up quicker !
If it makes you feel better, we've been introducing the potty slowly since 16m when she could walk pretty well, and now she's scared of and wants nothing to do with the potty 🫠 waiting til she's older and ready again now.
We have started introducing the potty we have 3 year old too so 2 year old want to do the same so far we have had 3 number 2s and about 4 weeks we started 3 weeks ago
