Potty Training - how to protect the carpets from any accidents

So today my 3yrs old told me he needs to poo and we put he on the toilet straight away and he pooped. I haven't started potty training I was waiting for Feb holidays to start. But since he already pooped on the toilet today, I was thinking shall I just start from tomorrow? And stop prolonging it. Also i got carpet in my house and am worried about any pee accidents on the floor especially now I have another baby who is currently crawling. What shall I put on my carpets to protect any accidents happening?

I’d say go for it while he’s showing interest! We had some waterproof tarps that we use for decorating and cheap shower curtains (had a home birth and midwife advised to get these 😂) and they worked well. And I also got some inco pads for the sofa etc. If you haven’t got one already then a spot cleaner is a life saver too!

@Lauren just added inco pads to my amazon cart. Thanks I just need a push to go start with potty training, especially when he actively told me he wants to go toilet. X

Good luck, that’s definitely a good sign! We tried in April last year and she wasn’t having it, but she started showing interest again and asking to use the potty at nursery and while out with friends that were potty trained. She aced it in the 3 day method! Hopefully he’ll get it quickly and you won’t have too many accidents 🤞x

@Lauren that's amazing👏 hope it's a quick one for me too
