Hey! The first appointment is more information giving than anything else! They ask a lot of questions about you, the other parent, both of your family’s history - it’s okay if you don’t know everything! I’d say to take the time to just absorb everything - this is my second pregnancy & both times it’s been around an hour of blood tests, pee sample, height & weight check, loads of questions and information and leaflets😂 if there’s anything worrying you then I’d bring it up but if you don’t have any questions that’s okay! You’ll have another appointment at 16 weeks so you can ask anything if you can’t think of anything at your first one☺️ xx
For your first appointment you need to take a pee sample and for your first scan you need to take your pregnancy notes with you
I am adopted and I have already had both my booking and my 12 week scan. I also have no family history and they really don’t actually seem to be that bothered about it. I brought it up on both occasions and they just sort of fobbed me off both times and said it’s not that important. It’s more just for information for you and father of the baby.
they go through A LOT of questions & tbh.. i didn’t even ask any because all was answered already lol my mum & her mum were adopted so i don’t know anything about that side of my family! it doesn’t matter too much - she just noted down that down. they may be extra precautious just in case, but if you don’t know then you don’t know! xx
