I have a 14 month old. Just a bit of advice. I had enough Vests, pjs and outfits for a minimum of 2 weeks. Just in case I didn't get round to do a wash. You'll find you will have more clothes than that though Muslins, I thought I had enough with 8 first time round. I'm buying more 2nd time round. Next to me cot for the first 6 months. A big cot for older. Pram, hopefully get one with pushchair and car seat attachment. Nappy caddy. Amazing buy, we have it filled with all the things we needed. So everything was to hand. Toys, we bought one or two, but people generally buy you that or clothes. We had 6 bottles. We would buy a pack of nappies towards the end everytime we went in the shop. Baby bath. Especially when they are little. Swaddle blankets helped our baby sleep better. I'll see if more comes to mind xx
@Efe feels so overwhelming doesn’t it
I was like that first time. I was panicking about how much I needed. But there were things we bought and didn't need. You'll find people will want to buy you thinganor give you things. If you Google baby list there are lists there and then it's up to you. We bought a second hand nappy changing table, rarely used it. But glad I bought second hand at £20 and not new at £70. We bought second hand baby swing chair at £45 new it was £150. We rarely used that. Xx
It can feel a bit like that! But honestly you don’t need much for the 1st 6 months. ✨Bottles/pumps/formula etc ✨Sterilising bucket (Milton cold water sterilised is the best & cheapest) ✨Play mat with a few toys ✨Sling - honestly my number 1 essential - my absolute saviour. ✨Car seat & pushchair - if I did my time again I’d buy the car seat brand new and the pushchair 2nd hand. They get battered, mine is nearly 2 years old, cost a bomb & I don’t even like it anymore. ✨ Next 2 me/bassinet ✨ Chest of Drawers ✨ Sleepsuits & vests ✨ Swaddle bag/sleep bag ✨ Muslins ✨ Pram suit for cold weather ✨ Nappies, wipes, sudocrem/nappy cream ✨ Bath/bath seat Stuff like baby swings, toys, fancy outfits etc are just extras. For example we spent £150 on a fancy swing for our son, he absolutely hated it but would gladly sit in a vibrating bouncer we bought at a boot sale for £10 🤣 My advice is to start with the essentials and then once baby has arrived, you’ll quickly learn what works! xx
Things that aren’t essential but I personally found really helpful: 👶 Rockit 👶 Nuby rapid cool during the day 👶 Perfect Prep upstairs for night feeds - I tried the Nuby during the night but burnt myself with the flask🤣 👶 Purflo Nest 👶 Car camera (instead of a mirror) 👶 Snoozeshade 👶 Behind the door storage baskets on literally every door with nappies, wipes, spare clothes, snacks for me, paracetamol, ibuprofen, just all sorts ready to go as and when needed!
I am in the same boat!
