School holidays and breaks

Just wondering what everyone is doing with kids during school holidays, half term etc. I work full time in HR with standard contract. The thought never crossed my mind as my children are still at nursery but my som is due to start Primary within the next 2 years so I do need to plan ahead… Also how does it work with term time contracts and annual leave? Would I only be allowed time off during school holidays 🙈 Any tips would be helpful please x
