How have you gotten your toddlers comfortable with public bathrooms/using public bathrooms.

We are potty training and it’s going great and he can hold it for a while. But if we walk into public bathrooms he gets terrified. Doesn’t want to pee or barely lets me pee. He’s so scared. Nothing happened to make him scared he just doesn’t like it and now sure how to help

Have you tried taking him into the family bathrooms

All of my kiddos were the same, they didn’t like how loud it can get in there with all the flushing/hand dryers/etc. With more exposure they are okay with public bathrooms now, but they still don’t like automatic flush toilets. I typically go for family bathrooms when they are available, but otherwise I make sure to keep a folding toilet seat handy so they feel more secure on the toilet and a post-it note or stickers to cover the flush sensor.

@Zoe @Megan yeah like the other day we went into a family bathroom and he just didn’t like the room at all. It wasn’t even automatic flushing

@Megan and that’s what I’m hoping just more exposure

Honestly dad took him a few times and he eventually got comfortable.
