Ive not even started and don’t aim to until 2.5 years old My sons speech isn’t advanced He’s not giving me any signs that he’s ready to learn I’d rather focus on it for a few weeks when he can communicate better than distress him for months 😊

We have had a potty in the living room since she was 18 months she’s now 2, we didn’t make her sit on it but she has used it occasionally. mainly put her dolls on it teddy etc. we bought her a couple of books and just let her get used to the idea. About 5 days ago whilst changing her nappy she said “I want my potty” so we sat her on it and she did a wee. Since then she has asked maybe 4 times a day each time she has done a wee. She was refusing for poo but this morning she asked can I do a poo on the potty. We’ve left it completely to her and she seems to know when she wants it. We’re going to swap her into knickers now she’s going for both and fully expect some accidents but we’re letting her lead. Books we’ve found helpful are no more nappies a little flip book and little princess I want my potty. Not sure what we’re going to do about night time. She does try before bed and straight away when she wakes up. But nappy is wet from in the night so not 100% trained.

He understands the purpose of the toilet and that me and his dad use it but takes no interest in it himself yet. I’ve bought a seat that goes on the actual toilet with a step attached rather than using a potty. Hes definitely showing a lot of signs he’s ready but I think I’m going to hang off a little longer

We started end of October and he has the odd accident but they’re rare
