My little one has gone through this loads of times she’s 17 weeks now and just did this last week again the health visitor said it could be a growth spurt as long as baby is having wet nappies he’ll be fine just keep doing what you’re doing and he’ll go back to his normal self x
My son did that once a week or two ago
Now he cries all day even after he’s eaten and eats 4-6oz a feeding at 6 weeks old
Our little boys did something similar very up and down with bottle feed sizes. It’s worrying when you hear other mums say well my baby drinks a full 6oz bottle every time! We found that he was sleeping through because he was getting enough in the day and weirdly the first feed after he properly wakes up (I get him dressed etc’) is also a tiny feed, even if he’s done a super long stretch over night with little or no bottle. I found if he was having little feeds during the day it was because he was tired so would fall asleep on the bottle. (It’s hard at 7 weeks as his wake windows will be tiny) but I’d try to really ‘entertain him during the wake window’ and nap him in a quiet dark room. It definitely helped. Also stretching your bottles out in the day could work so it encourages bigger feeds? Uppingthe teat size helped us as he got more milk with less effort too. It’s so hard. I think keep an eye on it and if you’re worried ask the health visitor
@Jenny thanks for this. He’s on size 2 tests at the moment but he’s sleeping a good stretch through the night which he is only having 1 feed through the night and even then it’s only 2/ounces. Last night I gave him a bottle at 9 he went down at 11 and woke at 4pm and he done that the night before. Hopefully that’s his nighttime routine sorted. But last night at his 9pm feed he had a nuby bottle so it was warm which he drank the full 5 oz but screamed for ages. We put him in the bath and he settled in the bath then we took him out and screamed again. X
I’d give your health visitor a call and see what they say x
