Double buggy or buggy board

My eldest is going to be 23 months when my little one is born. I was planning on getting a buggy board for my eldest to use or put baby in a baby carrier. I’m starting to question if I’ll be setting myself up for disaster & just to invest in a double buggy. Just wondering if there’s any mums with a similar age gap & what you did? If you did use a buggy board how did it go? Or any recommendations on double buggy’s that aren’t bulky?
