Not a baby question - bank holidays

Hello, I'm not sure if all trust do this differently but I'm just trying to work out my annual leave For the next tax year. I work 30 hours a week when the full time hours are obviously 37.5. on the annual leave calculator it says for bank holidays for a full time member you just take them as they fall but because I'm part time they are probably rata and it's baffled me. Someone has told me I will have to use my annual leave too, is this correct? I just don't get why some of it has to come out of my own leave if I can't physically work that day anyway? Please let me know if I'm just being really stupid! Thank you x

So it depends on the days you work really. You’ll get an allowance for bank holidays on top of your AL allowance.. so say there was 10 bank holidays… you’d get 8 for 30 hrs plus your AL (prorated). If you work Mondays and a bank holiday falls, you need to use those hours for it. If you don’t work Mondays those hours can be used like your leave. Sometimes towards the end of the year, you might need to top up from your AL to cover the extra BH. But there is usually an option to change your days when a BH falls too

For 25/26 you should get 6.4 days of the 8 bank holidays on top of your leave allowance

Depends on what days you work. My A/L is calculated pro rata including bank holidays pro rata which gives me a total amount. then any bank holidays that fall on my working day is deducted from my A/L.
