Potty training

My toddler has taken me by surprise and decided to start potty training herself. The only reward I had on hand was chocolate spread which isn’t ideal 😂 she’s now requesting this after every potty. What rewards are you offering for potty training?

We aren't doing it yet but I'd like to use a sticker chart

We don't offer anything. We clap when she does a poo, but that's about it 😅 She practically toilet trained herself though xx

@Jade I think that’s what my little girl is doing. Out of the blue she just started going for poo’s on the potty, but we are now trying to encourage wee’s 😂

so my son started potty training last week, we clap and cheer every time he does a wee or poo and say good job for trying if hr doesn’t actually go

My little boy also decided to poo on the potty by himself. We clap and then wave bye to the poo down the toilet which he loves 😂 we don't offer a reward. He loves the clapping and cheering so it's working.

How did you guys know when to start potty training?

@Jenny we wasn’t actually planning to start potty training until after she was 2, but we have a potty that’s been out since about 18 months. She started showing an interest and asking to sit on it a month or so ago, but not going to the toilet, then on Monday she did a poo on it and has been quite consistent since. Wee’s are still a work in progress haha.

Awh okay! I haven’t even thought about potty training yet but I think I’ll do the same and just get one and see how he gets on!

yes i’ve also had a potty out since he was about 15 months which he used to go and sit on by himself, he was also so interested in us goibg to the toilet and would follow absolutely anyone in there😂 tomorrow is 2 weeks since we started poos are consistent but wees are hit and miss still - he has 1 accident most days but i’m not too fussed!
