My baby hates the car!

I’m looking for help.. my little boy has always hated being in the car when he is on his own. When my partner is coming out with us one of us will sit in the back and he is happy.. however on days where my partner is at work and I need to use the car, my little boy will scream and cry until he is out of that car seat… looking for some advice as car journeys are miserable…

Same! I put baby in the front with me for long journeys where I can give him toys on rotation and I do make sure the front air bag is switched off. When we have shorter drives I tend to turn on his favourite music and sing to him.

I’ve not had this issue but I’ve seen people online say use a photo or a video of you so he can see you!! 🥹

My little boy was exactly like this! My partner would always sit in the back with him if he came with us. But when it was just me he’d scream until I pulled over and comfort him or I’d genuinely just go home. My partner started sitting in the front with me instead when coming out with us and as long as baby had a toy with him and his dummy then he has started being fine in the back. I never let him just cry I always felt guilty if there was nowhere for me to pull in and comfort him but now I very veryyy rarely need to do that unless we’re stuck at traffic lights for ages I just need to give him his dummy back xx

Have you got a backwards and forwards facing mirror? I’ve found my little one is much happier with both so that I can see her and she can see me! X

We had this problem with the twins twice and it seemed to be linked to having outgrown their seats. We have new bigger swivel seats now and they are much happier

Mine was happier once we moved to the next stage car seat so she was more upright and could see everything. If he’s not on the small side then you could look at switching seats.

@Rhian my boy was the same. Always used to cry in the car if it were just me and him - moved him up to a bigger swivel chair and he loves it now. I just pop his dummy in and give him a toy and he’s settled (he can also see me through the mirror so I talk to him). I sometimes take the Einstein fish tank thing and he watches that x
