Medicaid questions!!

Hi to any mamas on Medicaid. I’m getting married in June and we’ve had a lot of unexpected surprises and expenses since planning our wedding. We are not financially in a situation to provide health insurance for all three of us. I’ve been told when I get married I will lose my Medicaid but my spouse and his income is already listed as part of the household. Does this mean they’re factoring my partners income into my health insurance coverage already? Will I lose coverage? Can I have a wedding ceremony and reception without legally getting married?

So I was in the same boat as you. I didn’t want to get married because I’d lose Medicaid. Not sure why they are including his income in yours right now. They never added my husbands till we were married. I’m also still on Medicaid and so are my kids so I’m thinking you should be good.

@Marla they had me add him to our house hold to prevent them going after him for child support but they also do things differently depending on the case manager. I don’t think their own workers even know the ins and outs of Medicaid qualifications🙄. Thank you!! I’m gonna try giving them a call to verify because I’m so nervous about it.

They never added my husband(at the time bf)and never went after him for child support. So yeah who knows. All that crap is so confusing lol hopefully it all goes good and you still get to keep it!!

I got married back in september and just recently renewed medicaid for me and our 2 kids with no issue with all his stuff included!

I got rejected for it when I was pregnant bc I was married 🤷 now we are just in serious medical debt 🥴
