I’m considering refusing growth scans

Just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation. I’ve been told I have low Papp-a and I’ve been offered growth scans. My first baby came at 38+4 and weighed 6lbs, not classed as low weight. I’m concerned about how inaccurate growth scans can be and don’t want to be forced into inductions or sweeps if they say baby is measuring too small. Has anybody refused growth scans?

Whatever you decide just know you can’t be forced into anything including sweeps/inductions/C-sections! They can always recommend or suggest but you can decline without it being a big deal.

I’m in a similar position but in my first pregnancy I followed a page on insta called the birth uprising and they gave me the confidence to say no to sweeps / the drip etc. you are within your rights to say no to things even if some are more pushy.. Do what’s right for you x

@Lucy-mae thank you, I’ll have a look for that page. I’ve spoken to a few friends and there’s more to the scans than just growth so I’m going to accept them and just research lots so I can confidently decline things if I don’t feel they’re necessary 🙏🏼

I haven’t refused the growth scans because I love getting an extra look at the baby 🥰 but zero fat chance am I having a sweep and I will not have an induction unless I go to 42 weeks. Your care is completely your choice 🩷
