Possible Secondary Infertility

My husband and I have been trying to conceive the past 7 months. The first couple months were a hit/miss. But the next 5 months, we made sure to have sex within the fertile window (kept track of it using ovulation strips and app). I did a bloodwork 8 months ago, and everything came back normal. My cycles have been regular (28 days). I am 30 years old, I don’t drink or smoke. Each month has been stressful, and my heart drops every time I get my period. We are confused and disheartened. I’m thinking about getting another bloodwork done. Would it best to go to my gynecologist or go to a fertility center?

It took us several months + 1 miscarriage to conceive our 2nd baby, he’s now 9 weeks old 🥰 I’m 32, regular 28 day cycles, no smoking or drinking either and was using ovulation strips. Fingers crossed you get there, I do think it’s common for some to struggle with their second. I guess our hormones are so different from the first time around. I think if you want to go the NHS route you have to go to your GP as the first point of call but if you wanted to go privately then a fertility centre. I hope you get your 2nd soon 💝

It took us about 10 months to conceive our second (currently 32 weeks pregnant) I was using temperature tracking and ovulation strips and I found it so stressful! Weirdly enough it was a month where my husband was away on the day I actually ovulated that we fell pregnant! So must have been in the days before that actually worked for us! Praying you get your little baby soon!

@Chloe @Natasha Thank you so much for sharing your stories! Did you get any bloodwork done or just kept trying? I’m on the fence right now - I want to keep trying and stay optimistic, but I also want answers as to why its so much harder this time. I’m also like “maybe I should take a break because of how stressed out I’m being”, but also like “I’ll only regret for not trying and wasting away a month or two”

I've been trying for over 15months now, i was referred to a fertility specialist and they did not find anything wrong, I'm 29 and healthy. I had 3 chemicals. I'm heartbroken and i feel like i want to give up every day. I understand how you feel and I hope we both get our second baby soon♥️

@MJ no we didn’t get any bloodwork done and you’re right about trying to take away some stress. I actually didn’t track my ovulation when we fell pregnant so I was absolutely much more relaxed that month. It would have meant we would miss out on a family holiday if we caught the month we did so we didn’t ‘try’ and it happened (I was happier with my baby than the holiday) x

It took us 16 months to conceive our 2nd and currently 10 weeks pregnant. 1st child only took one try. I'm 31 and blood tests and ultrasound was all normal for me. However, my husbands sperm morphology was 0% which was the problem. He cut alcohol out and took proceive supplements and we fell pregnant the month after. I would recommend getting your partner tested just in case. It's a very stressful journey, don't give up! X

We’re on month 6 , but I’ve not been tracking tbf and maybe only bd once or twice during fertile window , the next 6 months I’m going to be tracking more precisely and also taking pregnecare plus omega 3 capsules sending baby dust to you all !
