Basics and essentials! We found this so useful to be stocked up on wipes, nappies etc.

You can never have enough muslins!! Spare sheets for next to me/moses basket etc too also very handy to have. I agree with the comment above in regards to basic essentials, nappies, wipes, cotton pads, nappy creams etc

I got pregnant with a 4th when I gave away everything. Coming from a mom times 4, I’d say you need somewhere for baby to sleep Somewhere for baby to sit(swing or bouncy seat) Car seat Stroller or baby carrier thing Clothes Diapers wipes If formula feeding bottles(I’ve never breast fed you need separate stuff for that i am sure. ) Pacis, some kids take and some don’t. Don’t get a ton of them in case they don’t take them.

These are the things I am getting for my 4th because he still needs stuff but trying not to go overboard.

Side note: do not go crazy on newborn clothes and diapers. They can be so cute I know but your baby may only be in them for a month maybe, If that. Get more 3 months and on clothes.

Frida nose sucker!!!

I know you can’t give to baby before 3 months but medication. Calpol, baby ibuprofen, gripe water, infacol, teething gel etc. just so you have a supply ready for when the time comes, if you need it x

A bit random but I would have loved some vouchers for something like Uber Eats/Deliveroo as there were just some days during the early days where it was nice to just treat ourselves and not think about cooking

@Olivia that's actually a fantastic idea, I'll definitely use this in the future x

Insulated cup. I had a barely used small Stanley that got absolutely hammered during the newborn phase. It was my comfort during night shifts and now I make my morning cup in it because I know I never get chance to drink it immediately

Nappies and wipes definitely. I think it’s best to get consumables as you’ll soon run out of room for stuff. Have the basics like moses basket and next to me for babies arrival but in terms of rockers/bouncers, play gyms etc wait until baby is here so you can see what they like. We got an electric rocker but baby prefers being bounced!

Dapple bottle soap Maternity bras Food delivery gift cards Healthy freezer foods that are easy to prepare There are my absolute MUST haves.

Gift cards Sensory toys Books Cotton vests in all sizes Cotton pj's in all sizes Muslins There are many other things but as a parent you will have particular preferences that you can't foresee now... Baby bottle brand, what type of baby carrier, all organic or not, brand of nappies, cloth diapers, fraganced products or not, WiFi baby monitor with camera or more basic... It is better to get a gift card unless you already know what you want.

if you’re not breast feeding I found the nuby rapid cool has been a lifesaver for making bottles when out and about

We just got a snooze shade for naps in the pram when we are on the go, and I wish we’d had it from the start! Especially since we had a summer baby.
