Moving from EBF to formula

Hi ladies, just after some advice if you have any… I’ve recently been moving from breastfeeding to formula feeding. Today we had our final breastfeed (😭) but she is happy thriving and that’s all that matters. Because she was breast fed, when I first introduced a bottle I used a number 1 teat. Fast forward to now, she’ll be purely bottle fed formula moving forward. Should I up the teat size?

You only need to move up if she's getting fussy. My LG is only on size 2 (MAM). If she's happy on size 1 just leave it

Any tips to make EBF baby to take formula? 🫣

@Santa have you tried mixing it? Do 75% breast milk and 25% formula then move towards more formula like 50-50 etc over a few days

@Jenny she didn't even take breastmilk from bottle 🙈 i think our problem is bottle 🙈 she has allergy and i have to take food out of my dietitian and i find it very hard and would love her to take special formula, but the taste of that and bottle itself doesn't help 🤣🤷‍♀️

@Santa I have to say, I think I was extremely lucky as she took the formula first time with absolutely no issues. However, I wasn’t expecting that as she wouldn’t even accept a bottle until she was 5.5 months old. I can’t advise on getting baby to have formula but I know when I was trying with a bottle, in our case, it was just about perseverance. It took about 5 weeks of me offering it every now and then. I’m not sure if it helped but I used to offer it around 1.5 hours after she had last been breast fed. That way I knew she might be a little hungry but not starving. Obviously everyone will have their own opinion on this but, the day she finally accepted I had put some under water 4K video on YouTube (lots of bright colours and calming music) and basically stood right infront of the TV🤣 It worked though as she was distracted enough to take the bottle. From then on, I just always made sure there was a calm distraction when I offered the bottle and then before long she would take…

@Santa a bottle regardless! Because I had such a hard time trying to get her to take a bottle in the first place I was fully expecting some bottle refusal when I tried her on formula. Like I said I think I’m lucky as she took it no problem but some distracting might help your little one?X

Thanks, I'll give this a try ❤️

@Santa we have just been successful with a Nuby cup , taken 1 ounce of formula which is an amazing achievement ! Currently been two days and trying every other bf. She sucks and doesn’t bite like the other times iv tried. I’m going back to work soon so been trying different methods! Tried 3 different bottles. X

@Sara thank you, I have tommee tippee but she is not fun of that 😀 will try this one 🥰

@Santa we use Tommy tippee for water now x
