Don't think yours is as severe as mine.i had it where if I looked down I could physically see it hanging out. So I think you are in early stages and can probably be fixed by doing pelvic exercises. But yes wait out to get seen by a gynaecologist
Yes, I've had a bad bladder prolapse for over seven years now with a not so bad rectal prolapse as well. Definitely see a pelvic floor physical therapist if recommended. I was recommended to and didn't, and I suffered for years. It wasn't until I found videos on YouTube and exercised my pelvic floor muscles that I wasn't suffering with bladder control or having it bulge out and be uncomfortable. Mines will look like something coming out of my vagina. It was scary at first. There have been times I had to take tissue and shove it back in and prop my but up in the air with pillows to have gravity try to put it back in place. Pelvic floor exercises have helped me tremendously. I just gave birth to my 5th child. The last two were c-sections, but it still takes a toll on your pelvic floor muscles. I wish the Dr's would inform us of the possibility of it happening just from being pregnant and what we can do to help ourselves out besides keegles. Sorry if it was tmi. I'm just trying to help. Best of luck with things
@Laurel hey, was this uterine? Has yours got any better? X
@Vini hey, was yours a uterine prolapse? Did you get treatment for yours xx
@Jen hey, thank you! Did your prolapse cause any issues with your pregnancies? I’m 7 months postpartum and we did want another baby and to start trying when she’s 1, I’m so scared it’s going to mean I cannot have a baby x
Yes mine is uterine m, currently it’s not better because I’m very pregnant. Some peoples can get better with pelvic floor therapy! They are thinking after I have the baby I will need surgery.
Yeah mine was uterine prolapse... Unfortunately had it during my pregnancy.. had a pessary fit in until pregnancy is done. Obv if it was after pregnancy, you have various options I believe including pessary or even minor surgeries to get it fixed. But I would highly recommend seeing a gynaecologist or even going private and not rely on GPs or NHS. They are not too helpful
So a physio I spoke to recently said they don't diagnose prolapse until 9-12 months post partum because of your body's general recovery time after pregnancy. It shouldn't stop you having another baby and other than pelvic floor exercises they're unlikely to recommend any other treatment until you've finished having children. Hope this helps. 😊 (Google has some fairly clear images for the stages)
@Laurel did you develop it whilst pregnant or did you get it after your first baby if you don’t mind me asking? Have you had any issues with your pregnancy from the prolapse? I’m 7 months pp and we wanted to start trying for our second when she is 1, I’m terrified I won’t be able to have another xx
@Vini did you develop it during pregnancy or before? Xx
Weirdly enough I developed it during my second pregnancy. It just turned up out of the blue when I was around 12/13weeks...and I had my first child almost over 3years prior..and never had any issues all those years
You will be fine to have another one.. I just have to try look out for symptoms and anything concerning and get seen quickly rather than waiting around and leaving it till last min and do everything to minimise/reduce the prolapse etc
My vaginal walls are prolapsed felt like I was sitting on a pair of balls 🤣 sometimes can make it hard to poop I was told not to strain or push and do pelvic floor exercises if it didn't improve then I would have a ring placed or even surgery I'm having my 4th baby now
I developed it after my first child and it’s been uncomfortable but as my uterus got bigger this pregnancy it went up some and now that she’s huge it’s back down again. Really it has just been uncomfortable but my pelvic floor therapist has been a great help! She did say that it can cause baby to not make it to 40 weeks but at this point I’m just about full term so that’s wonderful!

@Vini thank you xx
@Kimberley are you about to give birth vaginally or c section? Xx
Vaginally there saying
@Laurel oh wow congratulations! Good luck hopefully she makes an appearance soon! Has it caused any issues other than you being uncomfortable? Are you able to give birth vaginally or have they advised c section? Xx
It really hasn’t caused anything other than discomfort and some vaginal and pelvic pain and I can’t be intimate with my partner because it’s very very low and uncomfortable. They said they think a vaginal birth should be safe however I am anxious so I’m going to bring up my concerns at my appointment tomorrow and see what they say! And then at my 6 week postpartum I will see my gyno surgeon so we can decide the best route from there!
@Laurel congrats laurel! I'm surprised they didn't offer you a pessary. I'm almost 20weeks now and still got a pessary in but I guess it's probably cos I was at a quite severe stage where I physically wasn't able to walk. They've told me the same, just to keep monitoring as I get closer to full term and depending on however my symptoms get, will kind of need to go with it accordingly. So fingers crossed all goes well 🤞🏾
@Vini they did give me a pessary but it was unbearable I ended up using compression garments instead
@Laurel Yeah I suppose as the baby gets bigger it can get unbearable. That's my worry lol il be there soon 🥲 When did you take the pessary off?
@Laurel what does a compress garment do if you don’t mind me asking? X
@Vini probably around 27 weeks for good before that sometimes I’d switch between it and the prolapse garments because the pessary caused some chaffing with my cervix being directly on it
There are different types but the ones I was recommended are like underwear shorts kind of and they put pressure on the perinium and help activate your pelvic floor muscles and strengthen it some but also helps hold things in place! If you start wearing them now and doing pelvic floor therapy you could be in a much better place before getting pregnant and then it might be more bearable while pregnant!
@Laurel ooh okay thank you! I’ve booked in to see a private pelvic floor physio for the 8th feb today as it was stressing me! Did you have any issues with having inter course before you got pregnant or has it only started since you’ve got pregnant? If you don’t mind me asking x
It really wasn’t bad before I got pregnant but in the first trimester as my prolapse got worse I had discomfort and we didn’t have intercourse for awhile then as my uterus expanded and it went up it got better so we were able to some but I was weary and now that it’s down again I won’t even try 😅
These are the prolapse garments! Highly recommend getting a couple pairs as well as doing pelvic floor therapy!! https://a.co/d/0k1SSS2
So at first I couldn’t see anything but could feel the pressure but as it got lower i could. I eventually had to take a picture to show my ob because it is more visible when sitting or standing than when laying down so they couldn’t see it at exams.
