You haven’t failed at all. Please please don’t feel guilty. I’m so sorry that happened to you and sounds like the nurse could have been a lot better at explaining why she felt you didn’t need one and offering reassurance. Trust what she says and you can always call your midwife as well to put your mind at ease. I can’t comments as don’t know the risks from a medical perspective so trust the nurse. You told them you were pregnant and did your part. You have nothing to feel bad about. You’re doing an amazing job. Completely understandable to feel worried though just shows how much you care for your baby. Easier said then done but try not to google things. Google will always give you the most stressful answer. Xx
@Louise I can't thank you enough for your response xxxx thank you ❤️❤️❤️
@Helen thank you xxx
@Becks you’re so welcome, try not to beat yourself up, you needed the X-ray regardless of the outcome and I promise you’ve done nothing wrong by going for it! Your baby is very lucky to have such a caring mummy ❤️
@Louise thank you xxx I think I cried for about an hour solid and I really needed and appreciated your response xxx
@Becks bless you, I’m glad I could help! Xx
Hey! Radiographer here! I understand it can be so scary for you but I promise you that the radiation dose is so low for an ankle that it won’t affect the baby. We no longer use lead shielding for patients as it actually keeps radiation in rather than allowing it to disperse in a normal way if that makes sense. A good example which will hopefully reassure you is a chest X-ray (which would be higher dose than an ankle) equates to the same amount of radiation you’d get on a flight to New York! Xx
