Calpol

Can I put calpol in my little girls bottle? She’s due her second lot of jags on Wednesday, but when she had her first lot the stupid syringe shot the calpol to the back of her throat and she started choking and I don’t want it happening again. 🥲

I’ve heard putting it into the teat as they suck can help! If not try putting it to the side of her cheek and doing it slowly. I had the exact same when my daughter was younger and scared the life out of me.

Aim the syringe into her cheek (rather than straight in) and do it gradually ❤️

Take the top off the bottle and put the calpol in the teat of the bottle and give baby that way, baby can suck the calpol at her own pace, there are also medicine dummies which can be bought off amazon

You can't put it into the bottle with milk but you can put it in a teat. Syringe small amounts or offer on a spoon for them to lap up. Or syringe into the cheek in small amounts and wait for them to swallow

I've never heard doing it this way, so best not to. Have you tried using a spoon instead? Or use the syringe at the side of babies mouth

I use a teat and put the syringe inside the teat and when she is sucking on it she drinks the lot and doesn’t choke on it x

Using a teat is a good way as it goes in at their pace. Some people say to put it in with their milk, this isn’t advised as if they don’t finish the whole bottle you don’t know how much of the calpol they have actually had x

put in in babies cheek and let them swallow, don’t squirt it directly down their throat.

I always put Calpol in my boys milk because he HATES having it! I just use a small amount of milk so I know his had the full amount of the Calpol
