Yes just The top buckle! Not the bottom ones at all
My now 4 year old buckles herself and started around 3.5. Mainly because she begged to be in the third row and with a baby coming I couldn’t reach her to buckle her haha but I stand there while she buckles so I know the chest strap is at the right height and the straps are the right tightness. She’s just now learning to unbuckle which is super helpful with it being coat season and not wanting to stand on the outside of the car while she puts it on hahah
My niece and nephew FREAK if you buckle them in. They want to do it and do NOT want help. They’re 3& 4 and race to see who can get buckled in the fastest
My 3yo can do his chest clip but can't do the rest
Yes my 3 yr old does and her straps are appropriate My 4.5yr old…. Tries my patience regularly
So far I have taught the top buckle but not the bottom. I know he can’t undo the bottom yet. He likes to pull the string to tighten the straps. I just don’t think I would trust him 🤦🏾♀️
My 2.5yr old can get in the seat and buckle the chest strap herself but needs help with the bottom buckle still. Some days she wants to do it herself and others she gets in and waits for me to buckle it all.
@Michele girl I’m still swinging my heavy 3 year old in the car seat
@Haley 💚 they'll get it! I think having the car seat in the middle helps her get in herself since she has room but also if I was having to lift her it would be so much harder 😖
My nearly 5 year old can get in and out the car herself but can’t do the seat belt yet.
Meant to put not yet
@Michele that’s the problem. My 1 year old is in the center. But moving him to the center may be a good idea
My son just turned 3 and has been in the car seat like 10 times in the last year because we don't have a car. I had the car seat in our living room while getting ready and he buckled himself in no problem. I wouldn't trust him though, and he is a baby proof defeating expert so thats not a reflection of what I think he 'should' be able to do.
My 5 year old buckles himself in but he can only buckle and unbuckle the top part.
No but I’d honestly be scared to teach her because if she’s buckling in she’s buckling out 😅
