@Jess thank you i think thats what i am going to do. i read that the boiling water kills the vitamins in the formula, i dont know how that could work hahah.
@Steph it’s supposed to kill the bacteria, don’t think it could kill the vitamins - I read all sorts about it and got proper worked up overthinking but it’s worked for us so far with no issues!
I fill my baby’s bottle to 5oz of boiling water he has mam bottles so I measure out 30ml into his lid, I tip what’s in the bottle into the rapid cool and tip the 30ml into the bottle for the hot shot :)
I do the hot shot method & we take out a flask of boiled water as a restaurant once said they couldn’t give us any 🙄
I had one with my first in 2023 and I used to have a flask of the hot water and the rapid cool, pour the correct amount of water for the feed into the bottle (ie 4oz, fill to 4oz) then pour the water into the rapid cool but leave the amount for the hot shot still in the bottle, add the formula to that whilst the rapid cool is cooling the rest of the water to put into the feed 💘
How are people sterilising their rapid cools? I want to start using mine but it doesn't seem to have come with any instructions and I've only got a microwave steriliser
@Rachel im going to be filling it with cold water and putting half a milton tablet in it. I think you can get fred and flo ones from tesco which would work out cheaper as youre only using it for the rapid cool. X
We do the hot shot - pour the right amount of boiled water into bottle, tip most into the Nuby and leave a couple of oz in the bottle. Add formula to that boiled water in the bottle and swirl, invert Nuby and top it back up, swirl again. When we’re out, we just ask at cafes etc. to fill it and follow the same method.
