@Lindsay what about when you are going out? Xx
I wouldn't recommend tt prep purely because they're not recommend anymore due to the "hot shot" not being hot enough to kill the bacteria in the formula powder. You can prep the bottles and store in the fridge for 24 hours as long as baby doesn't drink from them. When going out I take a flask of hot fresh boiled water and a ice cold bottle of water and formula tubs with a pre measured amount or the tub itself. I also put formula in the bottle, if I'm doing 7oz I'll put 3oz of freshly boiled water in - I'm not waiting 30 mins to feed my baby, and top it up to 7 with cold. All 4 of my kids have been fine plus the hot water needs to be atleast 75 degrees to kill germs so waiting 30 minutes could change that temperature lower and not do what it's supposed to. Hope this helps x
@Phoebe-grace thanks Phoebe for the advice x
@Gaia no problem 😊 xx
@Phoebe-grace the cold water is from which water? X
@Gaia also make sure you put the lid on the bottle and hold it tight of you shake it with the hot water because it can throw the lid off, also to get rid of the foam in formula i use dentinox it's an absolute game changer, pops every bubble in the milk and makes it smooth so it's not gassy :) xx
@Gaia either bottled or tap x
We use TT prep and we wouldn’t be without it. Never had an issue with it not being hot enough. When I’m out I take a flask of hot water to do the hot shot and use the cool water from the TT prep machine. Put the hot shot in the bottle (we practiced it before we went out of how much to add) then put the powder in and swirl, top up with the filtered water from TT prep machine and good to go. I put the hot shot into a mug and chuck it then put flask underneath for filtered water. Works really well 😊
I make up all my girls bottles in the morning and then warm it in the microwave for her to have. If out I use a thermos that warms to milk up and then feed to her.
@Phoebe-grace sorry to jump on here but the cold water part must be cooled boiled water until 6 months at least, not tap or bottle water x
We prep all our bottles & put them in the fridge, re heat in the microwave or in hot water when the baby needs a feed, much quicker! If going out, we just take the pre made bottle in the changing bag with an ice pack to keep it cool x
Get yourself a nuby rapid cool!!! I use a hot shot method so you don’t have to sterilize the nuby so often, as it only has sterile water in it not milk. It gives a bottle in minutes! I have one for home and carry one in my rucksack. I also always carry a readymade milk in case too. I found my prep machine wasn’t hot enough and upsetting LO tummy! I might go back to it when she’s a bit older though but my nuby is my new love!! Perfect if your LO is like mine and likes cooler milk 🙃 x
@Lucy or that. Or distilled. Or filtered tap water in a jug etc
Tommee tippee prep machine life changing and we think our little one might have a milk allergy as well x
