Steroids & intralipids success stories

Next month we are doing an FET, this time with steroids & intralipids. Wondering if anyone has any success stories going down that road? We’ve had multiple losses, and finally been told I have extremely high numbers of very active NK Cells, so hoping that this will make all the difference, but would love to hear how others have gotten on.

She is Canadian but always responds. She has a baby and is doing her next FET on Wednesday and is doing intralipids due to high nk cells. https://www.instagram.com/ivf_baby_d?igsh=dWk0eXY3bnd0d2t1

Thanks so much @Danielle, I will check her out!

I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant whilst on steroids and intralipids. It was my 5th transfer but first time trying this protocol. My friend is also 19 weeks pregnant with same meds. So 2 success stories for you 😘 good luck xx

Oh wow @Laura, huge congratulations! Do you mind sharing the dose of steroids that you were/are on, and how many infusions you had an when? Have you stopped both now? I hear people saying that you only continue to 12 weeks. Was this the only thing that you changed for this cycle? xx

Hey Jen, on my 5th transfer (which was successful) we did both intralipid, steroids and inhxia injections. It was my first time on this protocol and i believe it was down to this combination which made it successful. Good luck x

Hey @Katie! I remember we chatted before - you’re in Birmingham too arnt you? At Care? Huge congratulations! Do you remember what dose / the timing of each of those drugs? X

Hi @Jen. So our first FET we were on intralipids and steroids (I had very high NK cells too). Unfortunately, even with all of this, we had another miscarriage. A year later and we had a second FETA with steroids and intralipids again and that resulted in our rainbow baby. I’m really not sure on the intralipids if I’m completely honest. I was under the recurrent miscarriage clinic for 3 years. I think I was just desperate and wanted everything. I’m now due to have another FET this cycle and my new clinic basically said ‘we do intralipids but don’t advise them’ and the doctor basically shut it down. He said I can have the steroid treatment if I chose and keep the same as last time but just no intralipids. Guess you just have to do whatever you feel is best. Here if you need to talk, and good luck! X

Hi Mari, huge congratulations on your rainbow baby. What do you think the difference was between the first FET with intralipds and steroids that didn’t work, and the second on that did work? And this time you are just trying with steroids? x

@Jen thanks lovely. I still pinch myself and she is a year and a half today. I really don’t know. I tried to prepare (for want of a better word) both physically and mentally before both. I wrote in my diary and did my positive thinking and speaking. I swear by acupuncture also. I’d been seeing mine for a while and he is just such a positive person that it helps me anyway! Yes, currently waiting for my cycle to start around Feb 17th to start progynova then we go again. I’ll be on: Prednisolone 25mg Omeprezole Lubion x 2 daily Fragmin x 1 daily Aspirin Folic acid 5mg And other prenatal vitamins. When are you hoping for your FET? X

Happy 18 months birthday to your little one @Mari! I will be on a very similar timing to you - my cycle is due to start on Feb 16th! What are omeprezole & fragmin, and what are they for? x

@Jen aww this is cool! Omeprezole is just to protect the stomach from the steroids, I took it in some of my pregnancy as I had awful reflux. Fragmin is the blood thinning injection. Xx

Thanks for explaining @Mari!

I’ve also had steroids and intralipids, after losses and failed transfers! Am now 13 weeks pregnant and I swear it’s what’s finally made a difference and got us our miracle x

Congratulations on your pregnancy ☺️ would love to know how many intralipid infusions you’ve had, and when you had them, and what steroid you had, and what dose!

@Jen thank you!! have you been to see a reproductive immunologist? It really varies on the dose etc depending on your NK cell activity and how high they were. I am having intralipids up until 20 weeks pregnant.

Yeah, I’ve seen Prof Thum at Lister clinic. I’m just intrigued by what others have been told dose wise etc

@Jen that’s good you’ve been to see a RI because they plan your treatment dose etc based on your bloods! I’ll be on steroids until 16 weeks and intralipids until 20 weeks and take 5 tablets a day
