We used the solicitors that the building firm recommended when buying our new build and can honestly say it made the whole process much easier! They new the details, site and communication between the solicitors/builders was easier etc. But I think it's very subjective 😬
Local definitely and dependant from the developers. Is it PLS based in Manchester. We used these and they were horrendous wouldn’t recommend to anyone. They didn’t add on any extra charges but they delayed completion and communication was poor. 4 years on I received an email to say they had over charged me and needed to refund me which was then a nightmare 😂 Also been able to actually go in and talk to a solicitor would be so helpful x
After previous experience I am really against one company pushing services of another company promising discounts and quick completion. They all get their money one way or another. But we found ourselves being forced into product we didn’t want or need because there’s survey and insurance for abortive sale and a company who checks that you have the deposit you say you have…. And to top it all off the conveyancing firm was not on the panel for our lender (Halifax FFS!). And they had the cheek to tell us to go with THEIR partner lender! So after about three weeks we were unable to continue with them and had to change conveyancers. Never ever again! Even if it takes longer I would always go to independent companies
Thank you all. We have confirmed the quote with the local solicitors and they’ve told us it’s so cheap because they’ve dealt with a lot of the houses on that estate (being new builds) so they’ve already done all the area searches etc! Think we’re going to stick with them rather than taking advantage of the discount . Just seems to make more sense knowing they’ve already worked with this new estate and being in town without a single bad reviews . PLS seems like to much of a gamble
From experience local solicitors. They have more knowledge in the area and often get it done quicker.
