Calling midwife’s

Is anyone else getting stressed about calling midwife’s, I’m 37 weeks with my second and I’ve tried calling maldon to book and antenatal because my drs doesn’t have anything till I’m 39 weeks, I’ve tried calling WJC birthing unit to try and book either a viewing or at least talk to them about having baby there. I also don’t have a number for my midwife so that’s not an option. No one is picking up, what am I ment to do if I’m actually going into labour if no one knows how to pick up a phone 🤦🏼‍♀️

You could try calling the daily assessment unit at Broomfield, or go to the hospital x

@Jas I can’t even get through to Broomfeild🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ve tried multiple extensions but all are saying there’s no one there to take the call 😅

Have you tried 03004437165 for maternity triage. If not just call labour ward on : 03004434224

Hope you get through to someone

@Charlii I haven’t yet thank you, I’ll give that a go after I’ve recovered from my break down earlier 🤣

What do you mean by book? If you’ve been seeing a midwife at Broomfield, you can just turn up at WJC in Labour with your notes

@Abbie I had my first at maldon so I don’t know how it works at wjc, my midwife I’ve been seeing at Burnham so Broomfeild and wjc are about an hour away from me so I’m just trying to work out what’s what, my midwife told me to ring wjc to book a visit to look around

@Leah you don’t need to have looked around to go there if you don’t want to, if you call/turn up when you’re in Labour then you will be seen there. It’s all linked so no need to book anything if you don’t want to. Alternatively if you did want to look around first, I would ask your midwife to send an email on your behalf at your next appointment if the phone isn’t being answered!

@Abbie thank you I’ll have a chat with my midwife at my next appointment x
