Haematoma

Hello had a scan today and I’m 6w 3 days. The lady asked if I’ve been having spotting (which I haven’t) and advised I may bleed as I have a haematoma on the top of my sac.. going back in 2 weeks to be rescanned which seems a life time away Has anyone else had this?

I had this in my first pregnancy! Had no bleeding at all, it just absorbed itself and they said was absolutely nothing to worry about and quite common x

I have a haematoma in this pregnancy. I had a few days of brown spotting on and off then had a pretty significant bleed a week or so later with fresh, red blood. I’ve had 3 scans now though and the haematoma has completely resolved and baby is doing perfectly well. I’m 10 weeks now x

@Alice Thankyou xx

I had a very very extensive and rare subchorionic hematoma in my last pregnancy. If things don’t settle and resolve and you need anyone to chat to/advice give me a message. Generally they are supposed to resolve by 12 weeks. You may get a big bleed with red blood; try not to panic, the blood needs to go. As long as the bleeding doesn’t persist you should be absolutely fine xxx

Did they give you measurements?

@Rachel no she didn’t give me measurements. Just said to expect bleeding and she will rescan me in 2 weeks, but you can see it in the scan, it’s top left on the sac x

Yeah I can see, the good thing is that it’s significantly smaller than the sac. The bleeding can be really scary and you might get clots. Every time I had a big bleed I went back to my EPU to see baby and make sure everything is ok. I also took high strength vit c, magnesium and ALA. My SCH was so significant I got hospitalised regularly and was very unwell with it, so I did a lot of research on what helps. Although NHS say there isn’t anything you can do - it’s just because it hasn’t been researched properly. Avoid lifting really heavy things if you can and I totally stopped any exercise. But the most common outcome is they resolve and bleed out/re absorb and it causes no bother to baby at all xx

@Rachel aw thankyou! I have a 3 year old boy that keeps jumping on me and wanting to be carried , which probably doesn’t help! My friend works in gynae emergency and said she’d scan me to save me going private and all it’s done is made me worry as if I hadn’t of gone, I would have been none the wiser 🙈🙈

They are really worrying and I won’t lie, they can end with loosing a baby. That’s what happened to me. But my consultant did tell me what happened to me was rare. His wife had one when she was pregnant and delivered a healthy baby. The chance that it ends jn loss is not the norm. I have another one with this pregnancy too. I’m having a scan tomorrow to see what is happening with it, but naturally I’m super worried x

I have this but it’s below. She said not to worry and that it’s quite common x

@Ashley low is really good x

I had a subchronic hematoma with my second son. I bled but all was well xo
