Handheld vacuum for toddler

My three year old loves to help clean and has been taking over my vacuum cleaner. I'm thinking of getting him a little handheld one but for the price I want to make sure it would actually hold up to toddler use and pick things up, he hates the toy ones bc they don't pick up anything

Get a desk Henry one small but sucks up well

Can you not just let him use the main hoover? My son loved the hoover and kept stealing it when I got it out or he would make a mess then request the hoover to clean up. Now he does all my hoovering, bare the stairs, but he’s learning that but will only do it with us there. Hoovering used to take ages to start with and now he does it all and does a great job and quickly. Started about 2.5yrs he’s just turned 4. It’s great. I rarely ever hoover

@Heather i let him use it almost daily, but he wants to use it all the time and it's a bit too large for me to be comfortable letting him do it completely alone. I don't want to eliminate his use of the big vacuum, I just want to provide an alternative so he can be a bit more independent and so I can do something other vacuum lol

@Haley yeah I understand that. I used to say that everything was clean, nothing more for him to “eat”. He’s eaten his food today so now he needs a good sleep. With mine you can see the dust in the cylinder “belly” so it helped with the whole “he’s full” My son seemed to understand it. Then next day I’d empty it so when we needed to hoover, my son could see he’s ready to go. Or leave it full and be like “he are so good yesterday, he’s still full. Can’t hoover today” Most kids don’t like just the toy ones as they don’t do anything. lol.

We got a cheap toddler one from Amazon for a 24month old. It *works* but will really only pick up pet hair and fine dust. Its also not rechargeable and takes a million batteries. I think your idea of getting an actual handheld vacuum is brilliant.
