Have you guys used glass bottles? And was your experience good or bad?

Thinking of getting glass bottles but I’d like some real feedback from people who have used them good or bad experiences and with what brands or what brands would you suggest for glass bottles?

We used Philips Avent and had no issues with them, other than sometimes the collars would leak a little if they weren't on properly. I much preferred glass over plastic because of leeching, and while they can still get scratches on them where bacteria can grow, it's far less likely. The only real issue with glass is breakage, but we never had one break. I even dropped one on my tile floor and to my surprise, it bounced and didn't shatter. Mine also came with silicon sleeves as protectors. To be fair, my kid was never much interested in holding her own bottles, and she's weaned from them now, but if she was a 15 month old holding them, I might use plastic more often. I did get a few plastic ones for going out and about when she got older. Now that I think about it maybe the reason she didn't like holding them was because of the weight. They are a little heavier than plastic.

As Melissa said, they are heavier...and the collar will sometimes leak-mostly because of overtightening. Also used the avent bottle. The other option is silicon bottles, but they are harder to heat.

We use and like Dr browns glass bottles.

We used Tommee tippee glass bottles. Didn’t use often as mostly BF but never had any issues 😊

We use bibs glass bottles and they have been great

We have to use plastic for daycare, but use glass the rest of the time and for storing milk (ebf/pump). We primarily use the Philips Avent and don't have any issues, even after dropping on the kitchen floor a couple times (just make sure to inspect them for cracks/chips - hasn't been an issue for us though). We also used glass Dr.Browns early on but stopped just because it has more parts to wash, but otherwise they were good too

I haven’t used glass bottles. I’ve seen so many videos on them, but I’m unsure honestly. Most of the videos seem to be only using them for the fact they look good compared to a plastic bottle, but I’ve always used plastic bottles, don’t think I could trust a baby learning to hold a bottle herself with a glass bottle!

@Libby we don’t use glass bottles because they “look good.” We use them because we don’t want microplastics in baby’s milk, heating up plastic is not good in general for your health. You obviously wouldn’t let a baby hold a glass bottle by themselves, that’s common sense 🙄

@Melissa You can use silicone bottles if you want baby to hold their own bottle.

@Incognito in all realness. I have had 3 babies and each babies have had plastic bottles and there is nothing wrong with them health wise, so it’s each to their own.

@Libby Just research it, there’s microplastics that are in the milk. I mean that’s if you care about your baby’s health more than your convenience.

@Incognito we're off of bottles completely, but thanks. She was just a lazy baby and uninterested. You're coming off a little judgy, imo. Concerns about micro plastics are valid but each parent makes their own choice for their own reasons. You're exposed to them regardless, anyway, no matter what you do.

@Incognito yeah I’m not sure why you are still going on honestly? You are coming on a bit strong for me giving my opinion which I am entitled too.
