@Bethany I was thinking about 3rd birthday when writing this so I think I’ll take her to the store and let her decide 🙂 because she isn’t into any programmes so she’s hard to shop for
Gifting experiences can be great and if your child already has more than enough toys can be a nice alternative like a trip to Legoland, afternoon tea or theatre.
@Zoë her dad will do day trips due to health none the less your idea is brilliant x
I don't think toys specificallt are important. I avoid character toys (except for a large collection of paw patrol stuff that I am probably more into then my son), but use holidays as a chance to sneak in developemental related toys. Magnet blocks were a big one for my sons third birthday because of how open ended they are, but I also did toys that teach the alphabet or teach deep breathing. Also toys that kill energy because my son has way too much of that.
You can gift them experiences instead! Like a movie trip or a trip to the water park, etc. I think unless I just physically couldn’t afford a gift since all their friends will get gifts I wouldn’t want to not get them anything, but you can still give them a gift without it being a toy!
If they don’t need it I don’t but my kids are also very young if they’re a bit older I may be more inclined to do so maybe now that my 3 year old is turning 4 but not for my one year olds
Yes but not until 3rd birthday because before that they won't know any different
