Period pain and TENS machine.

I have extremely bad period pains and Panadol does not help and i don’t want to use contraception as a way to manage the pain. Has anyone used a tens machine or have recommendations?

Yes TENS machine made a huge difference to my pain levels I’ve been using one for years You can also buy stick on heat packs from the chemist that stay warm for a few hours I usually put one of those over my stomach in between the TENS pads and that’s really helpful too

Ibuprofen helps better than panadol, but TENS is fantastic

Yes, I have heard that tens machines can be useful. I used to have painful periods prior to having my kids, but never used it. I did utilise Ponstan. I’m not sure if this is an option for you. I did however use a tens machine in labour and it was very helpful at disrupting the pain signals, so it should be the same with period pain.

No advice for period pain, but I tried a TENS machine during labour, and it didn't help me at all. 🫤

Red raspberry leaf tea

I have a machine called ovira and it's amazing ( when I bought it it was the only certified device) and I feel secure using it. It relieves pain straight away and the battery lasts 8 hrs, it's also very discrete to use at work
