Elective csection

Those who are opting for an elective csection, have you had your date yet?? I have a growth scan today followed by a consultant appointment (32 weeks today) but am not expecting my date today. Just wondering if anyone else has been told yet :)

Hey, I am after some issues with my previous birth. Discussed with my consultant at 28 weeks and will get date at 32 weeks (for my nhs board anyway). My consultant was going to book me in at 28 weeks but the calendar wasn’t open then for April ☺️

@Naomi ooh okay!! I would so love to find out today 😭 we need to start planning childcare for our toddler!

I think it depends on your trust as to when they give the dates. I have an appointment booked in for week 36 to meet with my consultant and set a date, which they’ve said will be in week 39. I’d ask your consultant when you can expect a date 😊

My consultant said she would give me my date at 32 weeks

@Bec thank you! Yeah I'll definitely ask today! X

I’ve just gone 32 weeks. I was given mine at 27 weeks for the 4th April. X

I had my date given at 26 weeks as I was so certain I wanted one x

At my 28 week appointment they told me they’ll be booking me in at 32 and to sign forms

Who did you speak to about having a elective c section, I have been thinking about it due to health issues but wasn't sure if I'm meant to speak to my midwife or consultant x

@Jessica both! I had an emergency csection with my first so said pretty early on to my midwife that I'm leaning towards an elective csection. I then saw the consultant at 22 weeks and said that I will most likely opt for one and they gave me some leaflets to read through x

Different Trusts are different and different circumstances, I'm with Derby and Burton Trust, and I won't be booked in until 36 weeks. It's needed due to ruptured placenta with my first so I'm not allowed hormonal induction again, but because I've expressed I would like VBAC, they will wait till 36 weeks to book me in at 40weeks, so i have a chance of going into natural labour which is preffered. (Unless my placenta is still blocking my cervix, and then it's planned section earlier to prevent the chance of VBAC but will still be booked at 36 weeks 😀

Thanks everyone! Just had my appointment and baby is on track apart from her stomach which is measuring large. They are re-testing me for gestational diabetes and will schedule the date at 36 weeks, depending on whether I have it or not and on how the next scan goes. Stressful!!

I'm 31 weeks tomorrow and have elected c section for the 7th April. I don't know if this is standard to have a date at this point already or not, or if it's because our baby has severe disability and will need surgeons.. Have you spoken to your midwife?
