Is this tooth normal?

So my baby was crying and I happened to notice a tooth that looks like it’s growing right behind a tooth! I felt it and it feels sharp like a tooth. First time mum so no idea how the teeth come in so I’ll apologies if it’s a ridiculous question…

Doesn’t look normal To me. Let me ask my uncle I will say it’s for a friend, he is a dentist and will let me know of something… one sec.

My uncle said it’s alright and since it’s a milk teeth, the shape and place of teeths will change a lot and it shouldn’t cause a problem long term, but he also said to see a local doctor just to make sure the swelling and everthing else are alright and not causing pain to your baby

@Denise thank you, that’s really helpful! Much appreciated x

Is this not an Epstein pearl? Mine had one and I was sure it was a tooth coming in a strange place but dentist said it was an Epstein pearl which is super normal and common. It’ll eventually grow out and disappear.

Have a quick Google of “baby Epstein pearl” this should help you get an idea if it’s similar to what you’re describing

@Caroline thank you, I have found a few images that do look similar. Im going to try get a closer look at it tomorrow. Thanks for your help x

That is a back molar. That’s how they grow. It’s totally normal!
