Out and About

😭😭 I run errands every so often but leave baby at home with MIL, I'm starting to have want to have baby with me but know it is a bad idea with cold and flu season rampant. How is everyone else managing the urge to want to take them places but realistically knowing it isn't safe yet?

Yes! I completely understand how you’re feeling. I had to leave my son with my aunt last week so that I can make it to a Dr visit. I felt my heart on the tip of my nose 😆 I rushed home just to find him sleeping peacefully in his bassinet.

I've done some necessary shopping at non-busy hours and just kept the stroller canopy up over the bubba and kept my distance from people where possible, washing my hands or using hand sanitizer before touching her after interacting with public spaces. It's a balance trying to mitigate risk but we also need to leave the house sometimes for logistical reasons and for sanity!

@Tracy im the same way. My first time running errands today with baby and my plan is to go earlier in the morning where it’s not busy. Lots of hand sanitizer and washing hands after.

I’ve taken my little guy everywhere, he even flew on a plane at 23 days old. Baby wear! Keep them close to your chest!

I’m too nervous to take my baby anywhere but I’m going crazy stuck at home all alone! if I use a baby carrier so that he is touching me the entire time, maybe that will help me feel less nervous.

I take my baby with me. Wash your hands often, leave them in the car seat or have a carrier when you are out and about. I’ve never had an issue with people reaching in to touch my baby if they are in a carrier or car seat.
