Grumpy baby

My baby boy is 8 weeks old and for the last couple of weeks he has just been so grumpy. He's quite often gassy and does a lot of grunting/pushing. Have taken him to the doctor who prescribed gaviscon for reflux (didn't work- I don't think he has reflux), ive also tried infacol and gripe water. He cries a lot, which quickly turns into screaming. He also has awful witching hours every evening. As a last resort I'm now trying kendamil goat milk instead of their cows one. I've lost confidence in taking him out as I often can't console him and just wondering whether it's best to just stay home as maybe he's going through a developmental patch. It's miserable and I feel so bored and lonely, just watch the clock waiting for my husband to come home. Anyone else?

I’m feeling exactly the same. My little one is 8 weeks old and was diagnosed with GORD and he’s been put on gaviscon and omeprazole and there’s no difference so god knows what’s up as no doctors will do any further tests and keep saying it’s reflux. I’m hoping he grows out of this miserable stage of screaming and crying constantly!

Have you tried colief drops? How often is he drinking, and how much? Also what bottles are you using and how long does it take to finish a bottle?

My almost 6weeks old is very similar. I’ve stayed in this week because I have no idea how long he will sleep and eat for and to settle him I have to do a series of belly massages and bicycles legs and then basically swaddle and rock to sleep.

I have this app which outlines the various developmental leaps the bubs go through and my little one has just turned 9 weeks and apparently is in a particularly fussy stage of a developmental leap which could explain the grouchiness this week so it's definitely conceivable

@Holley hi what's the app called?

@Esha the wonder weeks. It is a paid app but it's not alot but it gives you info about the various leaps the suggests activities that you can do with baby that works best at these various stages. Today we took a tour of the house looking at different colours and patterns and he was doing his ooo face the whole time and smiling away

We've just been diagnosed with cmpa. Maybe check if he has symptoms of that?

My first was like this, ended up being CMPA. He became a different baby overnight on a hypoallergenic formula x

I use comfort milk (Aptamil comfort) for colic and constipation and it’s worked amazing for my 7 week old x
