Compact strollers

Any mums with experience on compact carry on strollers and or specifically air new zealand. We are going to meet babys sister in Sept in NZ. I'm hoping to find a suitable carry on stroller but can find anything quite small enough to complay with the 118cm carry on rule. Most are around 123cm How strict are airlines with this. Alternative is buy a cheap stroller to check in and then pick up at gates. Do you get this as soon as you get of the plane where you have layovers. My partner thinks I should wear baby but I'd like to save my back haha. Any tips welcome please

I’ve never had an issue with the Joolz Aer! It fits in the overhead compartment. They always ask me at the check-in desk if it's like the yo-yo, and I say yes. Or if I see they are doubting the size (because it looks bigger), I tell them that it folds like the yo-yo, and they are okay. So I think the best known is the yo-yo 😂

We’ve travelled with our silver cross clic without any issues

My sister uses the Joie Pact for taking on planes but I’ve always carried our little one and checked in a stroller which you can take up to plane door.

We use Silver Cross Jet as our carry on pram.

I'd say baby wearing would be easier personally and gate check a cheaper stroller. You'll always run the risk of them gate checking it anyway so if you spent more on a fancy one and then it got taken, you'd be gutted. We just get a bag for ours to give it some protection but being hands free and wearing baby worked so well for us. Less faff at the plane x
